The United Nations (UN) proclaimed the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. The document contains 42 articles and underlines the needs, interests and rights of children around the world. For example, the right to education or the right to protection from violence. This declaration was a reaction to the injustices that children experience all over the world.
A total of 194 countries have signed the Convention as promoters of children's rights. It is important for these countries to have laws that guarantee the protection and promotion of children's rights. These laws help to minimize risks and vulnerability for children.

Immediately report serious violations of children's rights to the police or the competent authority, for example the Youth Welfare Office.
Should we discuss the Convention on the Rights of the Child within the family?
