In addition to the flourishing economy, Saxony also has a strong education system. The PISA study has shown that Saxon pupils are best educated. There are many specialisations at Saxony's universities, such as mining and micro-electronics. In addition to the universities, important, successful research is also carried out at institutes. The TU Dresden has among other things the status "Elite University".
