Against violence

Often, violence can lead to physical and mental damage to the affected person. This can happen in many situations. It happens frequently, but in the social area it is called as "domestic violence". Of course, there are many triggers. Especially alcohol is considered common factor in an escalation. Here clearing up is extremely important.

Physical injury offence generally have a high level of education. It can be assumed that many of the act will not be reported at all children and adolescents, in particular, do not display it.

Personal injury offences in general have a high rate of enlightenment. One can assume that many of the acts are not brought to display. In particular children and young people bring to the display. Of the victims, experiences of violence will often experience as bad interventions in the personality. Fears and even traumatic impact may be the consequence. What other legal ways are there?

You can report directly to the offender after the offence. Domestic violence involves many crimes. Some examples include assault, insult, threat, deprivation of liberty, sexual assault or stalking.

You can contact the help phone 08000116016 or seek online advice. There are also alternatives. These are specialist counselling centres for those affected by domestic or sexualised violence. In addition, intervention agencies and women´s or men´s homes help. Alternatively, you can contact the women's emergency call on site, if you wish anonymously.

The first measures can be initiated immediately. But the process begins until the day on which the injured person submitted the application. However, in the case of acute danger, protective orders a can be requested in an urgent procedure.

You should call 110 immediately or the local police station if you feel threatened. Get yourself and, if necessary, your children to safety until the police arrives, for example, with neighbours.

Victims of violence, seeking compensation

You may receive compensation from the state in certain circumstances if you have been the victim of an act of violence. The terms are governed by the Victims Compensation Act. Please send the application to the Local Social Association of Saxony.
